| Welcome to the Umpire
Sections of our website. In 2009 there will be numerous opportunities for
qualified umpires to work Championship Play. In all we need umpires for
fifty-five Championships, twenty-four KASA Region Championships, twenty-five
State Championships, two Mid-America Regional Qualifiers, and four
National Championships. In addition, umpires will be needed for
Invitational, Invitational Plus and league play. |
About Umpire Registrations:
The ASA umpire
program is among the nation's best trained and largest officiating
organization. The cost of Background Checks, ASA Insurance, and Photo ID
for Certified Umpires are included in the registration fee.
Important Notice:
The Kansas ASA Board of Directors place a high
priority in creating an appropriate environment for our softball
programs. Beginning with the 2009 softball season, all umpires will be
background checked through the Online Umpire Registration Program.
Some manual umpire registration with background checks will be available
through select KASA Region Commissioners.
Umpire Insurance:
Insurance will be
provided to all umpires that completes the KASA Umpire Online
Registration and background check. ASA umpires are covered while
officiating ASA sanctioned activities, games, leagues and tournaments
involving ASA registered teams.
Each Registered Umpire is automatically provided with
$5,000,000 per occurrence/$8,000,00 aggregate of Liability Insurance.
$100,000 of Excess
Accident Medical Insurance. There is a $100 Deductible per injury. (More

Certifying Criteria
Attend current years’ State Rules Clinic or National Umpire
School.
Score 90% on Umpire Rules Test
Approved by their KASA Region Commissioner.
Each Kansas ASA Region will set their own Umpire Game Fees for Region
Championships and Invitational and Invitational Plus Tournaments conducted
within their jurisdiction.

KASA Umpire Youth Umpire Registration Fee was eliminated.
